Getting Your First Tygra
When you are brand new to this game, it might seem almost impossible to get your first tygra! The only ones you can find for sale are expensive, and you have no money what do you do? Here are some ways to get your very first tygra, and how to help you get there!
1. Buy Customs
This sounds obvious, but I thought it should be pointed out for players unfamiliar with the setup of this game and similar games (ex. Wajas). Custom tygras can be purchased for TGP, a currency obtained through donating real-life money or through trading with other members. For more information on this, please see section five of the TygrasDB's FAQ.
2. Free Tygras From Other Members
Members who have been around for longer may hold contests, raffles, or giveaways that you can obtain free tygras in. One popular example is a custom design contest, in which you can use the custom generator to give these members ideas for a custom design, and if you win, they will create your design(s) and often give you a free cub.
PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT go about asking/begging/pleading for free tygras. IF and ONLY IF another player posts or otherwise mentions the opportunity should this method of obtaining tygras be considered. Nobody wants to be begged for free things. I included this method to let you know these options are available and to check the board (usually the main "Chit Chat" board) to see if such contests are currently being held.
3. Purchase Your Own Tygra
There are two main components to this method - making the money to purchase your tygra, and finding tygras to buy.

Making money on Tygras is fairly simple. Listed below are the most common ways to make Tygra Cash.
a. First, as soon as you start the game, you should get a job in one of the shops listed underneath the "World" tab on the main navigation bar. Pick the shop that you will stay with for the entirety of the game. Visit that shop every hour and click on the work button. You can do this once an hour (even if you work at 1:59, you can work again at 2:00). You can also re-work if you get an event that leaves you "feeling refreshed", or the event in which Heath visits you. The more experience you get working at that shop, the higher your salary will become.
b. You can also get money at the Hidden Door of the Monastery. This only happens with a special event, however - If you get the random event "You feel a cool breeze blow past you
" head straight to the door and you will receive 100 TC!
c. You can trade currency from other games, such as Wajas or Furry-Paws, for currency on Tygras.
d. You can make money by buying and re-selling rare items, such as halos found in the Monastery shop.
e. If you already have a tygra, you can make money by offering him/her for breeding with other tygras.
f. If you already have a pair of tygras, you can make money by selling their cubs.
g. You can also make money by selling your artwork on the Buy and Sell Art forum, if you are an artist.

So, now that you have money, how do you find a tygra to buy?
a. The first option is to visit the Buy and Sell Tygras forum board. People will post there with numerous opportunities to buy their tygras. Some may post a pre-sale of second generation cubs, while others may post with tygras that they currently have for sale. There may also be auctions for tygras or a breeding pair's cubs. Usually however, the prices on the sales board are a little higher than players looking for their first tygra can afford; however it is always a good place to start, and it will give you a good idea on what to expect as far as price ranges go.
b. The best way to locate tygras for sale in the game is by using the search function. The search is found at "Search Tygras" located under the "World" tab of the main navigational bar. This bar gives you a lot of options you can specify, such as generation, breed, gender, etc. If you are looking for tygras for sale, your most important filter will be the "Sales Price" filter. A really good way to find a tygras you can afford is to set the sales price filter to "less than" the amount that you have to spend. You can then choose to sort by either price (highest or lowest first) or gender (highest or lowest first). To see all of the least expensive tygras being offered, you can set sales price to "greater than" 1, and choose to sort by price - lowest first. This will bring up all of the least expensive tygras for sale in the game at that time. If you are looking for a particular breed or gender, you can add in those search criteria. Remember that the search is currently limited to 25 tygras only, so you may need to set up several searches with slightly different criteria to see all possible options!
